A cat that guards books

Does reading have purity?
What do we gain from reading books?
My own answer to the above questions is that I purely enjoy diving deep into the depths of reasoning in my mind and wandering there.
However, did I not just showcase books like ornaments on a shelf without actually reading them?
Did purity truly interact with books on its own?
Somewhere in a corner of my mind, there is self-consolation that I like books or that I should only like them.
As if pretending to be knowledgeable.
Purchasing books and not reading them,
How is it any different from inviting musicians and not listening to their performances, claiming to enjoy music?
I won't show any courtesy towards books.
After all, books are merely material objects.
However, it is evident that there was a slight hypocrisy at the foundation of my psychological approach towards those simple materials.
It's about reading books, not just displaying them.
After a long time, I discovered a simple yet good book.
Following the journey with the cat that guards books,
I was able to discover myself losing the purpose of a book.
